Wrapping up Engage’s Cohort 12 CEO stories, we are pleased to introduce Gareth Evans, CEO of VECKTA.

Gareth says, “The way we power our world is changing. For business leaders, this is the opportunity of a career. Whether you are actively deploying energy solutions today or you want to ensure your organization is fully prepared to embrace onsite energy in the years to come, VECKTA is your trusted partner. VECKTA guarantees results for businesses seeking to lower their energy costs, improve their reliability, and reduce their carbon emissions with confidence.”

Recognizing the vital role of energy in our economy and daily lives, VECKTA is an on-site energy marketplace and software platform, enabling business leaders to seize these opportunities without requiring in-depth energy expertise. Their Platform looks across your entire portfolio of buildings and quickly identifies the highest-value opportunities. The Platform constantly assesses opportunities against an ever-changing landscape of policies, rebates, and market prices. When you are ready to explore specific solutions, they can be optimized within weeks and procured within months rather than years. VECKTA’s approach saves millions of dollars in planning and construction costs.

Gareth spent much of his career traveling around the world with the world’s largest energy engineering firm supporting the biggest businesses in the world to design, engineer, and power their facilities. A pivotal moment for him came during a two-year stint in Iraq after the Gulf War, where he resided on the US Army base in Basra, facing nightly mortar attacks and traversing the terrain with personal protection teams. It was eye-opening for him to witness the disparity between the resources available to the largest energy corporations and the scarcity experienced by the local teams—surviving on just a few hours of unreliable power each day. This experience catalyzed Gareth’s realization that a transformation was essential. His final position involved leading a global power consulting practice, and he was exposed to the complexity and inefficiencies in the power industry. This experience fueled the founding of VECKTA, driven by the mission to simplify and accelerate the energy transition.

VECKTA recently collaborated with a multibillion-dollar winery conglomerate at a U.S. site facing a critical situation. This winery encountered a 40% increase in energy costs over 18 months and faced power safety shutdowns due to wildfire risks, a dire situation given their need to harvest grapes during peak wildfire season. VECKTA implemented a customized system, leveraging solar plus storage technology, which resulted in annual savings of $400,000, accounting for over a third of their total energy costs, while reducing emissions by 36%.
