John Murphy
President and Chief Financial Officer, The Coca-Cola Company
John Murphy is President and Chief Financial Officer of The Coca-Cola Company. He oversees Global Ventures; Platform Services; offline-to-online (O2O) digital transformation; Customer and Commercial Leadership; and Finance and Strategy. Murphy is also responsible for representing the company with multiple stakeholders, including investors, lenders and rating agencies.
Murphy began his career with Coca-Cola in 1988 and has held a variety of leadership, general management, finance and strategic planning roles around the world.
From 2016 to 2018, Murphy served as president of the company’s Asia Pacific group, with responsibility for operations in the group’s five business units. He was also responsible for the company’s Bottling Investments Group, primarily focused on key markets in Southeast and Southwest Asia.
Murphy served as president of the South Latin business unit from 2013 to 2016 and as president of the Latin Center business unit from 2008 to 2012.
Murphy is a member of the boards of Coca-Cola FEMSA and The Coca-Cola Foundation. He is on the board of trustees of the Woodruff Arts Center and co-chairs, with his wife Talia, the University of Georgia’s Parents Leadership Council.
Murphy earned a bachelor’s degree in business studies from Trinity College in Dublin and a diploma in professional accounting from University College in Dublin. He qualified as a chartered accountant of the Irish Institute of Chartered Accountants.
